The Smurfs are coming to the big screen in 3-D on July 29th, and the marketing machine is revving up: get ready for Global Smurfs Day! On June 25th, Sony would like for you all to get decked out in Smurf blue.

According to the NY Times, their goal is to set a Guinness record of the “Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Smurfs Within a 24-hour Period—Multiple Venue.” Which doesn't seem like it would be too hard... except that two years ago 2,510 people assembled in a Wales nightclub dressed as Smurfs. Apparently this is a thing.

In New York, Smurf-people will be meeting down at South Street Seaport at 10 a.m. on the 25th, where attendees will get FREE SMURF COSTUMES! Check out the details here, while you listen to the theme song (below).
