Obviously the picture is of Mr. Weiner. He wouldn’t leave the door open to the possibility if he wasn’t concerned about somebody showing evidence it is.

Can't say with certitude that the self portrait of a crotch isn't his? Let's say there were a couple... maybe a handful... of self portraits of his crotch out
there... Wouldn't he recognize if this was one of those few?

The only logical explanation is that there are so many self-portraits of his crotch floating around that he can't remember all of them.

That could be the case here, too. He can't tell if it's him in the picture because for all he knows, at some point he did take a photo of himself where he had a woospie-daisy boner (or whatever) but didn't realize it because it because how often would he zoom in on a photo of his own crotch.

Because of how ridiculous our political environment is these days, it's LESS disastrous to say you have no idea if you're in the photo than giving a solid yes or no answer, because if you say no and it turns out it is a zoom-in on you, you have opponents who will hammer you for lying to the press/police, and if you say yes and it turns it out isn't you, they'll still be getting tons of media out of the fact that you admitted to something that wasn't even you in the first place.

Now, if that picture was cropped and zoomed, you're telling me Cheney could have said, without a doubt, that it was or was not a picture of him?

It's not perverted to have an erection either. But it is pretty stupid to be sending photos of your covered erection to young women when you're a married man. 

It's probably not too bright to be doing that if you're unmarried as well because women are generally unimpressed when they receive something like that.

Who said it was? My point was that something could be in a photo, and someone could then take that photo, zoom in and crop just that part, and frame it as if that was the entire context of said photo.

RJGNYC, Now that Weiner has gone on TV and admitted he sent the picture and thatr he has sent other more explicit photos of himself and has engaged in "sexting" with women not his wife... what do you say now... should he resign like Lee who merely sent a shirtless picture of himself?

Why would I want him to resign? Overall, he supports legislation I support and while he did something stupid and tried to lie about it, I want him as a represenative, not my spouse.

I also fail to see what's wrong with him engaging with women online during the time he wasn't married. It was entirely consensual based on what was said. Him continuing to do so after being married is a matter between him and his wife.

Lee resigned because of his own party's stances on things. It's hard to be pro traditional family values (aka: fucking over the rights of the LGBT community) when you're giving yourself an alias and soliciting sex on craigslist.

I'm a lot older than Weiner, yet no one in the public would ever have had that opportunity in my lifetime.

You obviously haven't seen the photo in question. It is taken from the perspective of a standing man looking down. There is no "zooming" involved.

It is possible that some minor cropping occurred but there is no doubt that the focus of the photo was the crotch area and that it was a self portrait. No amount of cropping could have changed the context of the photo.

Whoever took the photo was clearly and deliberately taking a picture of his crotch... with an erection. Surely Weiner knows if he ever took such a picture.

That he claimed, preposterously, that he couldn't say with "certitude" if the picture was him is telling. Clearly he is saying that such pictures exist... he just can't remember from the many photos of his crotch, in his underwear (a distinctive pattern by the way) with an erection, if this is his crotch photo.
