Was Rep. Anthony Weiner's Twitter account hacked into Friday night, or did the self-effacing politician pull the ultimate weiner joke? According to BigGovernment, there was a picture of a man in his underwear with an erection tweeted on Weiner's account on Friday night. Weiner told Politico that social networking identity hacking was to blame, but it's just like Joan Didion once said: "The willingness to accept responsibility for one's own Twitter account is the source from which self-respect springs."

Soon after the lewd picture was published, Weiner tweeted: "Tivo shot. FB hacked. Is my blender gonna attack me next? #TheToasterIsVeryLoyal." He followed that with another jokey response to the incident: "Touche Prof Moriarity. More Weiner Jokes for all my guests! #Hacked!"

Weiner emailed Politico that he thought it was obvious that he had been hacked: “The weiner gags never get old, I guess,” he wrote. According to spokesman David Arnold, Weiner got a message about a week ago from Facebook alerting him that his password might have been tampered with, but the warning was ignored, and the hackers eventually broke into his FB and Twitter accounts.

But BigGoverment thinks Arnold was lying to the Post, and only raised more questions about "this rapidly developing story." As Gawker points out, conservative bloggers are convinced that the picture is evidence that Weiner is having an affair, possibly with a journalism student in Seattle who once referred to Weiner as "her boyfriend" on Twitter.

Daily KOS says that the whole incident was a set-up by Andrew Brietbart, who runs BigGovernment site, and he has been taunting Weiner on Twitter saying he has "much more" scandalous material to reveal...but could anything be more daming than a certain infamous HS photo???

This is a bogus story, if they get the FBI, involved it is going to come down to the turd republicans as the culprits.

Yesterday evening the young lady involved already posted her story, so as the attacks intensify, you know the TURD republican is into it over his head.
