Good Morning America In Hot Water Over Terrible Botox Mom Photos

Where to start with this one? In a truly bizarre and disturbing sequence of events related to the alleged "Botox Mom" who supposedly injected her 8-year-old daughter, ABC and Good Morning America are getting caught up in a checkbook journalism scandal for agreeing to pay $10,000 for photos of the mom and her child.

Here's a quick rundown of what's been going on: On May 10, a Good Morning America aired video of a San Francisco woman named Kerry Campbell injecting her 8-year-old daughter with Botox (and talking about giving her "virgin bikini waxes") to help her win pageants. Outrage ensued, and a few days later, it was revealed that the whole thing was a big, sick hoax by a woman named Sheena Upton, who was paid out by the England's The Sunto act out the fake story.

GMA finds itself in an awkward position after admitting that they agreed to pay a $10,000 licensing fee to a British freelancer for photos of Campbell/Upton injecting her daughter, that they're now backing out of since the photos appear to be staged. Critics are calling out the network for their sketchy dealings. The network said, "We have one goal: To get to the bottom of this, and to share with our audience any new information and development we can uncover."

I'm far from an optimist, but people are really failing to see the bright side of this: at least there isn't really a sick loon injecting her kid with Botox on national television.

I dunno... I think its plenty terrifying to think of these pagent moms going to these sick extremes to "beautify" their poor kids, but I think its scarier that this mom would willingly exploit her child and her family through some weird hoax for reality TV. That is absolutely disgusting. She is just as bad for pretending to do that and destroying her family as actually doing it.
