Surgical Caps: Hot New Accessory For Retail Store Robbers

2011_05_surgicalcaprobber.jpg A persistent robber tried to rob three Manhattan stores without any luck—until he went to a midtown CVS on Sunday. The police say the suspect who took cash from a CVS at 320 Fifth Avenue while wearing a surgical cap is the same one who tried to rob a Cosi and Duane Reade downtown and a midtown Starbucks in the past two weeks—as well as another Duane Reade on the Upper West Side after the CVS holdup.
—without any success.

According to the Daily News, "In each botched robbery, the man covered his face with one hand while sticking his other hand beneath his shirt to make it look like had a gun, police said. He demanded cash before fleeing... Cops describe the man as white, age 35 to 45, 5-feet-7 to 6 feet tall, and weighing about 200 pounds. Besides the cap, similar to a green shower cap, he has been seen wearing a gray sports jacket, blue jeans, a black baseball cap and dark sunglasses."

More amusing bank robber get-ups include the Darth Vader outfit and Barbie-style fashion.

What a moron! If he wants to be taken seriously as a criminal, he should have worn the thug head wear of choice: a NYY cap
