"I don't want to kill everyone...Just my enemies."
Every week, it seems, we're hearing about some new development with the upcoming Gotti biopic and its ever-evolving cast and crew—Lindsay Lohan this, Kelly Preston that. But today comes some news that the flick's producer, Marc Fiore, has somehow snagged the Godfather of them all, Al Pacino, to co-star in the flick alongside John Travolta. Just when he thought he was out...they pull him back in!
Fiore released a statement saying that "Pacino will portray Gambino crime family underboss and Gotti associate Neil Dellacroce," who was the No. 2 Gambino crime boss and Gotti's mentor. The announcement doesn't come completely out of nowhere—last week, Barry Levinson reportedly stepped in as director on the project after Nick Cassavetes was given the boot, and a quick review of Levinson's resume reveals that he produced Pacino vehicles Donnie Brasco and HBO's You Don't Know Jack.
Pacino should be a natural for the role, being no stranger to Mob dramas and melodrama. Let's take a look at some of those moments, shall we?
