If you can't trust a man selling you $38,000 worth of wine 3,000 miles away on a site that also offers gently used doll clothing and trash-for-TV swaps, who can you trust? The Post reports that a California man who traveled all the way to Queens to buy a case of Chateau Lafite Rothschild was instead robbed. We knew there was a reason that we exclusively drink Carlo Rossi.

"Bart," who was offering the deal of century ($3,200 a bottle) on Craigslist, seemed legit because the victim had bought pricey wine off the site a few weeks earlier from another seller without a hitch. But after arriving at the designated meeting place, he was "tied up and robbed of $40,100." A witness saw the man stagger from the building with "his head bleeding. He had no shoes or socks." No problem, you can find those on Craigslist.

Its sad that people still don't know not to pay cash for a "great deal" on Craigslist.

helps if you used a distance unit of some sort...
