Video: Keith Olbermann Announces New Show, June 20 Start

2011_04_keitholberm.jpg Three months after leaving MSNBC, number one libtard Keith Olbermann has announced his return to airwaves today in a video at his website, FOKNewsChannel, FOK being "Friends of Keith." The new show, Countdown with Keith Olbermann (hmm, that's familiar), will start on June 20 on the small cable network Current TV. He explained, "I wanted to go somewhere where i could expand upon and enlarge upon the work I'd already done...a place where journalistic integrity and analytical honesty would never be compromised by corporate synergy... I found that place at Current TV... where they gave me a title, an equity stake, and a PONY."

Media Decoder says that MSNBC doesn't have a comment yet about Olbermann's decision to re-use Countdown for his new show and adds, "Current TV has a much lower audience base that MSNBC. The channel averages fewer than 25,000 viewers in prime time; at MSNBC Mr. Olbermann often commanded audiences exceeding 1 million. The channel’s executives have called Mr. Olbermann the best investment they have ever made. (His salary has not been disclosed, but he was granted an equity stake in Current, along with a management role.)"

Olbermann was a highly rated talk show host on MSNBC, but he wore out his welcome after not disclosing political donations to management.

Goodbye & Good Luck. . . Schmuck! ( CurrentTV should stock up on TUCK's asswipes! )

I'm not a fan, but hope they do the show here in town.

His new show could be called: "A self important douche bag who loves to hear the sound of his own voice".

  • ANGRYGOD11

    He can go FOK himself.

YAY LIBTARDS! I love Current_tv! Long live InfoMania!

  • I know I say this any time anybody brings up Current.TV but I MISS Current.TV. They used to be really good at distributing their shows online-- at their website or at Hulu-- but they stopped doing that. Right about the time that they canceled Rotten Tomatoes, too.

  • robingee

Also I miss Conor Knighton. Nerd dreamboat.

  • Yeah, as much as I like Erlich-- my wife had a huge crush on him, you know, back when we could watch the show-- I was sad to hear Knighton was out. I wonder where he landed.

  • SeasTooFarToReach

I don't think Conor is doing anything just about now.

@Mordical, You can always try their site or their YouTube channel for InfoMania. They post plenty of clips, sometimes around half the show!

  • Yeah, but scrubbing for clips isn't the same thing. If they don't want me as a consumer, then fine. I'm not going to bend over backwards. I'll read a book or something instead.

Current TV is definitely in a "transition" period. It started long before KO joined and right around the time they started showing movies (eh?) and canceled the RT show. Sadly, it's not clear where they actually want to go with it just yet.

I've been patiently waiting because they used to have some good original programming. Right now there's very little original stuff. I hope "Countdown" finally launches their new phase.

  • I just hope I'll be able to watch it! I miss my infoMania; that was my jam.

  • robingee

I know, cancelling RT was a huge bummer.

  • I mean, I knew it was coming when they stopped using user generated reviews...that was really the church bells ringing. It was just sad that I couldn't watch Erlich on infoMania either, since they blocked all their content.

Great, so we can listen to him drone on about his condo board not letting his cat, ms. precious perfect, into his upper east side co-op?

  • TimSPC

And not a single fuck was given that day.
