Ever since Fort Hamilton High School teacher Sabrina Milo was arrested for allegedly making "Columbine-like" threats, her students have rallied behind her, claiming that she was a kind and caring teacher who must have been joking. And on Friday, many of her students will stage a walk out in protest of her arrest. “There are so many teachers in this school who say things like this and they don’t get arrested,” senior Omar Elsayed told Brooklyn Paper. “It’s understandable, teaching is stressful. But if it wasn’t for Ms. Milo, I wouldn’t be graduating high school, so I owe her a lot." And some other teachers are beginning to question her arrest.

One teacher said that Milo had appeared stressed out before she made the comments, and that Principal Jo Ann Chester may have been bullying her. He also said that Chester "goes after" a lot of people, and that, “It’s hard being a teacher at this school." Chester has a 2.7 rating on RateMyTeachers, with comments like, "Chester is the most plastic person I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. She'll stab you in the back while she's smiling at you!!! All she cares about is 'HER' image." However, this isn't the first time Milo has gotten in trouble with the school.

She was sent to the rubber room last year after hitting a student's hand with a ruler, though one student said the incident was blown out of proportion and that Milo offered to buy the student a manicure. Another student said, "It probably was an April Fool’s joke gone too far. I doubt she meant any harm."

  • And RateMyTeachers is a fine measuring stick of a person's performance!

The students were going to cut class anyway, but this is a great rationale.

  • come on all of us at one time or another mused about going on a kill crazy rampage, does that mean that all of us are going to carry that out? being a teacher has to suck especially a high school teacher, i personally put my teachers through hell when i was there. so she vented, so what.

you understand that people didn't take the kid at Virgina tech seriously, neither the columbine one. you don't know what to expect these days

  • TimeDown

I agree with you for the most part. The problem here is is that if they don't take this seriously then they can't justify all the times they suspended, expelled, or had arrested students who said the same thing. Zero tolerance is a lazy policy.

This shows once again why zero tolerance policies are STUPID!

Why? If you were Bloomberg you'd also be in love with how easy it is to manage it at that point.

If I were Bloomberg, I would be resting on a beach somewhere sipping margaritas as native ladies walked by in skimpy clothing.

You and me both brother. Bloomy already has us beat with that - plenty of time for that stuff when every fuck up is a dismissable offense.
