Football Players' Lockout: Tom Brady v. The NFL

Thanks, Alphabet! Because the New England Patriots' UGG Spokesman's last name begins with a B, he is listed first in the former players union's antitrust lawsuit to stop the NFL lockout. Which means the suit is named "Brady v. The NFL," something that could potentially ruin the quarterback's reputation. He'll just have to cry himself to sleep on his bed of money with his supermodel wife.

Marc Ganis, president of the Chicago-based sports consulting firm, SportsCorp, said, “This dispute is going to, if it goes on much further, tar everyone involved with it. And his name being first and foremost on what may turn out to be a divisive action is not a positive for him." But outside of the NFL professionals, who will probably overlook this "scandal" in favor of Brady's talent, does anyone actually care? If anything, it just cements his reputation as the world's biggest troll.

  • Keep on trolling Tom Brady.

So does no one in the NFL have a last name that begins with A? I don't understand how "order" puts Brady first

I believe there are 12 or so plaintiffs in this class action lawsuit. I have no idea about the ins and outs, but I believe it's because the NFLPA decertified, so it couldn't be NFLPA v. NFL. That said, the NFLPA is officially a trade organization though a de facto union, and likely picked which people should be part of the lawsuit. That's why you have the big names, Anglo-Saxon names, African-American names, and college names.

I think he agreed to being attached to the case to keep his credibility with his colleagues. As anti-union as I am, I'd do the same thing if I were in his position. So goes the pressures of being in a union...

He also hasn't been on the news like Drew Brees, Vincent, Vrabel, Foxworth, and all the rest of them. He's smartly said little on the matter as to not upset the fans.

He's really playing it perfectly, which is not surprising. He's a smart guy.

  • Why would this "ruin the quarterback's reputation"? If anything it will make him a savior of the players, Saint Brady, so to say (ugh, I can't believe I wrote that, I hate the Pats). When you have a player as talented as him, it really doesn't matter what he does, unless his face gets mutilated or something, then he'll lose all his female fans and the fringe gay New Englanders who watch the NFL.
