Another Idiot Brings A Gun Into The Empire State Building

Are people really worried about getting attacked in the Empire State Building or something? We ask because for the second time this month police have arrested a man for entering the iconic building with a firearm.

49-year-old former Marine Patrick Dandrea was arrested a little after noon yesterday when an X-ray scan revealed a .22-caliber pistol nestled in his's wife's pocketbook. Dandrea quickly claimed the gun as his own, but as he only had a permit to carry it in his home state of Arkansas he was promptly arrested for criminal possession of a weapon.

After his arraignment he was released without bail. He told police he'd been target practicing in Long Island earlier in the day and forgot he still had the gun (in his wife's pocketbook?).

Earlier this month an Indiana man was arrested after his backpack, and the .32-caliber revolver he had in it, set off the building's metal detectors. You'd think after the recent high-profile arrests of people bringing their guns into New York folks would be a little more careful with where they bring their firearms!

Why are these tourists bringing guns to NY? Did they heard something bad about us? Naahhhh!

  • He must have gotten too used to living in an area where owning and carrying a gun isn't something that causes people to shit themselves and cry in the corner. If we had concealed carry reciprocity at the federal level, you wouldn't see all this nonsense.

That said, this guy a is a moron for forgetting that he was carrying his gun in a state that hates guns so much and doesn't recognize ANY other state's CCW permits.

  • Bernie_Geotz_Squirrel_Luv

Shouldn't bloombag be commenting on any of this?
Any follow up on the other guy? or do they get a slap on the wrist because laws are different for white people?

  • C_Right_THRU_U

well, that Palestinian guy got away with it (and he shot seven people up there!)

  • bittinho

The real issue to me is how did he get the gun to New York, probably on a plane, scary thought.

  • mmheidelberger

Probably checked it in luggage, which if declared, is legal.

  • HypocraticOath

Seriously, who are these morons? You would think either the numbskull or his wife would have had an ounce of foresight. Because what I envision is something like, "Wait, didnt we just shoot some shit? Dont remember where the gun is though...oh well, off to the ESB!"

  • thats my uncle and my aunt. my uncle, he served this country for 20 years. one of the nicest families you'll ever meet. the morons are the ignorant people who post stuff w/o facts...what makes you any better? trying to get a like on your comment because you have no friends lmaooooo

from MSNBC, not exactly friends of NRA-types.

"Statistics from the national Centers for Disease Control do indicate that the murder and mayhem predicted by many opponents of concealed-carry laws have not come to pass."

WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO DEFEND OURSELVES! THE ZOMBIES ARE COMING!

  • Len_Drexler

He's going to need more firepower than a .22 pistol to take down a zombie.

  • robingee

YOU HAVE TO KILL THE BRAAAAAIN!

  • "Pocketbook"? Did the Post time travel back to the 50s? Wait, they already live there. Nevermind.

Aaaaaaaand the 2nd Amendment folks chime in any second now...

  • the 2nd amendment only prevents states from banning the sales of guns, it does not prevent states and localities from restricting the sale/ownership and possession of firearms. NYC has very very strict laws for ownership, but if you go to upstate ny those laws are alot more lax. this has nothing to do with the 2nd amendment but more to do with morons not knowing the gun laws of places they travel to.

i support the second amendment and this guy is clearly a moron.

but that doesn't make NYC's restrictive gun laws any less illegal.

  • S.D.

Well, the Supreme Court has yet to strike it down.

  • Guest

well, if Washington D.C. and Chicago are the canaries in the coal mine, just wait...

  • mistermarkdavis

I'm for gun control, but hot stepper is right about the legal angle.
