Confirmed: Jersey Shore Cast Will Get Us All Banned From Italy

jerseyshore0311rome.jpg As the Jersey Shore cast gets ready to make their move to Italy, the show's past seasons have just started airing in the country, putting fear into the locals. Or is that hatred? A newspaper in Rome (via the NY Post) said the cast embodies "the worst stereotypes of Italians, multiplied by thousands and Americanized." Another paper there described them as having "slicked hair, exaggerated narcissism, and outlandish eccentricity."

A preview of the show posted on MTV Italia garnered some harsh comments (Italian internet commenters, they're just like American internet commenters!), such as, "When I see this, I wonder whether [Osama] Bin Laden had a point."

Hopefully Pauly D is up for a challenge... he thinks he's going to meet his future wife there (or as he put it, people have told him he should "go get somebody straight from Italy").

  • Its like you read my
mind! You appear to know so much about this, like you wrote the book in it or
something. I think that you could do with some pics to drive the message home a
little bit, but other than that, this is great blog. A great read. I will
    certainly be back.

Were they talking about the Jersey Shore cast or Europeans?

I don't know what they're complaining about. Silvio Berlusconi's antics far outdo anything the JS kids have perpetrated by several orders of magnitude. In fact, he's been known to rock some "slicked hair and exxagerated narcissism" himself.

  • I was gonna say - everyone who thinks that Italy is above this must never have heard about Sicily or Silvio Berlusconi.

  • at least the Italian stereotype is universal.

This confirms my theory that the greatest American export is still date-rapey guys with pompadours from Staten Island.
