Dov Charney Says Accuser Sent Sexually Explicit Emails
Is The Dov starting to fight back? American Apparel CEO Dov Charney claims, via his lawyers, that 20-year-old Irene Morales was sending him naughty emails long before she filed a lawsuit against him for $260 million. According to the NY Post, Morales—who claims she was held as his sex slave—"appears more like a money-hungry vixen than a helpless victim" in the emails.
The 42-year-old Charney says she sent him at least 40 nude photos of herself in 2008, a year after she quit the company, with salacious text like, "Daddy's got a little naughty girl waiting for him." She allegedly also promised sex acts in exchange for money and clothes, and asked, "If you're not using one of the many laptops you have, would I be able to use it?" At one point she even begged for a job, "even at the Hoboken store."
The emails in question were sent under the name Irene Julia, but Charney's lawyer says they are one in the same. Morales' lawyer told the paper, "We have no way to verify the emails or photos in question or if it is just more of American Apparel's propaganda. However, it is not unusual for victims of sexual harassment or assault to grow so demoralized that they feel the only value they offer is as a sexual object."
This week another former employee, Kimbra Lo (pictured above), filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Charney. This morning she appeared on the Today show with her lawyer, who is also Morales' lawyer; he says Morales was forced to send the aforementioned emails.

Fuck this guy. Fucking employees who are half your age during "bussiness" meets alone in your home is just plain dumb and immoral.
The 'victims' could turn out to be full-blown streetwalkers and it wouldn't matter - nobody like this should be running a business.

Why are people making claims about the morality of this situation? It is clear that Dov has very different morals than normal members of society. "Should be" is relative. People make money in much more "immoral" ways, at least what he does is seemingly out in the open. I'd be proud to work for a progressive man like Dov, especially since I am a woman who is capable of being responsible for her actions.

These girls all have blogs where they reveal a lot of information that incriminates them. They all have the same lawyer. Hmm.... Something is fishy.
Man, this is what dream is made of, making millions selling crappy clothes and banging hot young chicks left and right, my hero!
Olivia Spencer
The clothes aren't that crappy.
JarekAF
sad, but, true.
Like, on one level: Total F---ing Greaseball.
On the other hand: every straight guy is envious as f--k (though, they may not admit it).
MermaidFornicator
i admit it.

I don't understand. Does sending sexy emails somehow preclude one from being raped or kidnapped?
I can't wait until the Dov's miserable behavior catches up with him (waivers against lawsuits? really?) and he goes to jail.

these girls are using trial by media to extort money from a well-known greaseball horny bastard. none of the many previous sexual harassment lawsuits brought against Charney were ever proven.

seems like if there was actual criminal behavior these ladies would have gone to the police instead of the Today $how.
JarekAF
Sexual Harassment isn't a crime. You don't go to the police for violations. You can go to the EEOC. In New York, you can go to the NYC Commission on Human Rights. Or, you can pass go and go straight to the court house and sue.

kidnapping is a crime.
JarekAF
ahh, I didn't catch that the first time.
There is a kidnapping civil offense, which you can sue for, which has a lower threshold to prove, then the crime . . . but yah, you'd think she would've gone to the police if it was a meritorious claim.
Dov = Total Slimeball
But = You know what you're getting into when you work there.

My god. Is there no level of depravity these American Apparel sluts won't sink to?

Let me fix that: However, it is not unusual for alleged victims of sexual harassment or assault to forget about their staunch principles and demoralize themselves by going after shitloads of money when they can't get their way.

It's actually extremely uncommon. But maybe you were just trying to make a dumb funny?
Prove me wrong instead of just saying it. I wasn't really trying to make a funny, as you called it, but if you laughed or even tittered, then it's all good.
It is not uncommon for bitches to dig for gold when they can't have their way. I think Dov is an unctuous jackass, but if this woman sent him nude photos, then she has no case whatsoever. He could countersue for entrapment?
I get so sick of people saying their circumstances caused them to completely abandon their moral code. Grow a spine!
I do have a lot of respect for women. What I don't have is patience for people who take two flippant sentences of mine and turn them into a witch hunt. Take it down a notch and get off your high horse. You'll feel much better walking on solid ground.
As for your assumption about authority, I have no respect for authority figures other than my parents. That respect must be earned.
Also, it's good to know you see yourself as judge, jury, and executioner here. Good luck with that.
