With less than a month until it starts its tenth go-round, the TriBeCa Film Festival media machine has started to rumble. And though single tickets won't be available to non-AmEX holding, non-Downtown living, New Yorkers until April 18 the lineup for the Festival's popular (and free) Drive-In series have been announced. Putting aside the fact that you can't actually drive in to the World Financial Plaza, where the movies are screened, anyone up for some Fame and Muppets Take Manhattan under the stars?

On Thursday, April 21, the 1980 performing arts high school classic Fame (not the remake) will be screened at in the plaza following the first—and we aren't making this up—"Tribeca’s Got Talent" competition in which "aspiring singers and dancers are invited to show off their best moves at Tribeca’s open-call song and dance competition where everyone is a winner."

On Friday, April 22, the outdoor area will screen excerpts from the Festival's documentary entry When the Drum Stops Beating, about Haiti's oldest and arguably best-known Haitian-Caribbean-Jazz fusion band, Septentrional. Not only that but the band will be on hand for a free concert as well.

And finally on Saturday, April 23, the festival will screen one of our favorite movies, The Muppets Take Manhattan, after pre-show family fun including face-painting, Muppet trivia, "surprise guests" and sing-alongs. And you know what? We're willing to wait through all of that for a chance to see the gang launch their musical Manhattan Melodies on the big screen.
