Ed Harris Will Channel John McCain in HBO's Game Change

We can see it...

HBO has dropped another casting notice for its adaptation of John Heilemann and Mark Halperin's Game Change: Obama and the Clintons, McCain and Palin, and the Race of a Lifetime and it appears to be as on point and interesting as the last one. Joining Julianne Moore as Sarah Palin in the movie will be Ed Harris as John McCain.

The hardworking actor is the second cast member announced for the movie, which brings back the creative team (director Jay Roach and writer Danny Strong) from the network's 2008 election movie, Recount. You remember that one—where Laura Dern played Katherine Harris?

Clearly they are taking their casting choices seriously and—because a distraction from real news is always nice—we're increasingly curious about who they'll pick to play the rest of the big players like the Obamas and the Clintons. Luckily at this rate we won't have to wait too long.

I would sooner play Hitler than that traitor McCain. 24 tapes recorded for the Viet Cong, condemning America? Some "hero"!

I wonder if Ed's going to gain weight or if they'll use prosthetic jowls.

ed's going to have to wear contacts ... there's too much life in those bright blue eyes to be a believable mccain

  • If they were taking the casting seriously, Michael Hogan would have been cast as McCain.

In an odd twist, John McCain will channel Ed Harris in "The Right Stuff 2011- The Disney IMAX Experience."
