Over the weekend Senator Chuck Schumer praised NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly's work in the city, and said he would be an excellent candidate for running the FBI. But not if Mayor Bloomberg has anything to say about it!
The mayor agreed that Kelly is a great Commish, and said, "I, for one, would certainly like him—I expect him—to stay for the next 1,023 days." Don't worry, Bloomberg, Kelly isn't interested in the job anyway. It's too bad for Schumer, because he was probably counting on that $50 referral fee if Kelly got the job. Instead of playing headhunter, Schumer might as well go back to cracking down on hackers and beauty spas.
