We just flipped the page to the chapter we always knew would be written: Dov Charney has been accused of forcing a teenage employee to perform sexual acts on him. According to the Daily News, the unnamed employee is now suing her former boss for $260 million, and her lawsuit claims she was held captive at his Manhattan apartment!

The suit was filed in Brooklyn Supreme Court this week, and charges that in April 2009, Charney invited the teen employee to his Manhattan apartment, where he was wearing nothing but underpants and she was "forced her to go down on her knees just inside the front door and perform fellatio upon him... nearly suffocating her in the process." This allegedly went on for several hours, while she was "held prisoner" there.

The Dov allegedly waited until she was 18 to escalate his flirting to this physical level (according to the Post, who gives her last name as "Morales," he threatened termination if she didn't perform once of legal age). As for the alleged victim, she's been "diagnosed as suffering from serious psychiatric injuries from which she will never fully recover."

We've contacted Charney's camp for a comment, but they're keeping mum for now.

As if this surprises anyone, in fact I'm shocked it took this long.

I mean American Apparel has always been like any other clothing company exploiting their workers.

The only difference was instead of their textile workers it was the advertising and retail workers being exploited, welcome to the 21st century.

Somewhere deep in Dov’s mind, he probably wishes he just stuck to tacky ad campaigns and masturbating infront of female reporters as opposed to greeting this particular birthday girl with her very own Dov ‘I hope this 18th birthday will be a memorable one.’

Either way it’s going to be a slow motion wreck watching Dov reaching for his zipper, assuming he knows where it is.

if the shitty, cheap-ass american apparel clothes aren't enough to keep you away from the brand, then the shitbag that runs it should be

  • I know many girls that don't care what Dov does to his employees, they will keep wearing "American Apparel" until it does belly up.

  • age of consent in new york is 17 actually

What the hell kind of a self-respecting businessman invites a 17 year old employee over to his apartment alone?

  • Guest

    All of them.

Did Dov plan this lawsuit just so he could have it announced that someone was 'nearly suffocating in the process' of fellatio? Kind of convoluted way of announcing he's hung, but whatevs, sounds like a nutter.

  • yincrash

why would this be filed as a lawsuit rather than criminal charges for sexual assault?

From the NY Post comments: "I know the plaintiff, Irene Morales. She has been obsessively stalking Dov Charney for years, claiming to be in love with him and has been known to show up uninvited to his home and office in Los Angeles. So I can say without a doubt, aside from her need for psychiatric help, there is no truth to this story. Unfortunately, it's just another sad case of legal extortion."

Sounds more like it, too many why wouldnt you just go to the cops or lawyers before doing any of this in this story.

"Sounds more like it, too many why wouldnt you just go to the cops or lawyers before doing any of this in this story."

Besides the already-observed folly of trusting what you read in the Post comments, I'll point out that she obviously has gone to lawyers. You did notice that "this in this story" is a lawsuit, right?

  • kgnyc

Yea I'm saying she should have gone to the lawyers sooner not two years later to take this guy down.

To close this down I don't agree that anything said in this article is acceptable at all and if it turns out to be true then he should burn and go down with his company. I'm simply saying that it seems like there is more to this story then what is stated above. Bye.

Why would you believe anything written in the comments at the Post (as opposed to the plaintiff's words), without any further knowledge? Those comments have been known to be consistently filled with racist, insensitive, idiotic vitriol, and Dov Charney is known to be a pig. Was the commenter's namedcharney69, by chance?

  • kgnyc

I agree Dov Charney is a creep but theres gotta be more to the story. If someone threatened you with being fired in exchange for sexual favors and your 17 wouldnt you think that you would call a cop or tell your parents rather then go over his house when he invites you over. And when you go over and hes in his underwear wouldnt you turn around and leave and call the cops or a lawyer. Im skeptical of this girl, Dov Charney is still a shady son of a bitch though.

  • random transplant

Its funny. I can't quite explain why, but for some reason your posts remind me of how the recidivism rate for sex crimes is like 90%.

  • jaycjay

Oh, OK. You're one of those guys who thinks that if a rape isn't reported immediately, it couldn't have really been a rape. Got it.

  • unretrofiedforu

Are you fucking kidding me? Were you there? Exactly - there's still credence on both sides.

I know though, a 17-yr old girl and her family who's trying extort a wealthy businessman? That's impossible. C'mon now.

  • spiracles

So... when you are going to ditch this loser as a sponsor?

  • Just any other day in Dov crazy world.

  • NY Post has the same story but didn't proof it as well...they let her last name slip.
