Eat What You Expect At Salt & Fat

New York has been on a literal restaurant naming trend recently. We've already got Traif and Pies & Thighs, and now Sunnyside is adding Salt & Fat, a “new American, small plate” restaurant by chef Daniel Yi. The Sunnyside Post reports that it will open in early March.

Salt & Fat will be replacing Go Koong, which advertised itself as "Korean Well-Being Cuisine." Yi hasn't said anything about the menu yet, but from the title we're going to guess this isn't a raw vegan place. We can't wait for the trend to get even more ridiculous. Bring on "Pork And Beer"!

Clever, but unappetizing. Traif is obscure. Pies and Thighs is sexy. Salt & Fat as a restaurant name strikes me as a very poor choice. We'll see how long they're around.
