MS-13 Gangster's Post-Murder Cry: "The Beast Has Eaten"

It's been a busy week in court for members of the notorious La Mara Salvatrucha street gang, better known as MS-13. Member Julio Chavez is charged with killing Maurice Parker on May 18, 2007, in Flushing—and all because of a misunderstanding. Chavez mistook Parker for a member of the rival Bloods gang, because he was wearing a red sweatshirt. According to accomplice and former MS-13 gang member Jose Molina, Chavez went on a long rant in Spanish after the murder, saying amongst other things: "Yeah, homie, that's how you're supposed to do it. You see the blood coming out of his head?...The beast has eaten!"

Federal prosecutors unsealed a 70-count indictment charging 25 members of the gang with federal rackateering charges, including murder, assault with dangerous weapons, witness tampering and retaliation, extortion, narcotics trafficking. They also announced yesterday that they will seek the death penalty against MS-13 gang member Rene Mejia, who allegedly helped execute a Long Island mother and her 2-year-old son last year.

When these guy go to get their 'tats'- do they get a volumn discount- you know- being in a gang and all? Also- does BlueCross/Blue Shield welcome them with a 'Group' rate. . . and how about the 'Bloods' gang- is there a RedCross/RedShield for them? and if not, why not? Are the 'Bloods' being discriminated against. Are their Human Right being violated.

Also, if you're in a gang- can you still get life insurance from, say, MetLife- or does MetLife have a special subsidiary setup for these guys. 'MetDeath'?! (Get it?! 'Met Death'- as in one having 'met his or her Death'?!)

I think these guys would certainly benefit from a continuing education program at, say Brooklyn or Queens College. They would probably do well- they could 'tat-up' their 'crib-notes' and easily pass written test. . . getting a GPA of at least 3.5!! (They could actually call these "crypt notes'! (Get it?! 'Crypt Notes'!)

I think NYC has to be to society of 'inclusion'- facial 'Tats' aside!
