EMT Accused Of Ignoring Dying Woman Arrested For Shoplifting

201102_handcuffs.jpg Karma has not been kind to the two EMTs accused of ignoring a dying pregnant woman in an Au Bon Pain in December 2009. Last July one of the two, Jason Greene, was fatally shot in the face during a dispute outside of a SoHo club and now comes word that the other accused EMT, Green's then-girlfriend Melissa Jackson, was collared Tuesday trying to swipe $50 worth of cosmetics from a Walmart in Westbury.

The FDNY has suspended Jackson without pay for 30 days.

As far as the Au Bon Pain case goes, both Green and Jackson have insisted since the fateful day when six-month-pregnant Euthisa Rennix died that they did not not notice her, and even if they had they did not have the proper equipment to help her. In October Jackson was charged with official misconduct.

What a disgrace to the fine EMTs/Paramedics of this great city. I swear it is impossible to get fired from FDNY EMS. First, you don't do your job resulting in someone's death, and then you shoplift and get caught redhanded and charged with a misdemeanor and get a 30 day suspension.

shoplifting? Does this idiot really not realize she's already gotten her second chance at life and this is how she spends it? Shoot her in the face.

The headline sort of implies a different and maybe more sordid story.

  • Um...no it doesn't. It is pretty much exactly what the article is reporting.

Unless you read it as a dying woman arrested for shoplifting.

Time has proven that the character of these two individuals is as questionable as originally thought.

This isn't karma. Karma would be the universe punishing you for misdeeds. These two EMTs brought this on themselves by their own actions. Greene associated with the wrong people and paid with his life. Jackson shoplifted and was caught. In their case, karma isn't a bitch. Life is.
