Woman Killed By Ex Recently Sought Help From Cops

2011_02_giumm2.jpg The grieving relatives of a Queens woman who was fatally shot in the face by her ex-husband say that Giummia Villa had gone to Family Court last week, perhaps in an attempt to get another order of protection from Alexander Figueroa. And Villa's brother said that Figueroa, who later killed himself in his apartment, had dumped Villa when she started to suffer from kidney disease, "The relationship went south when she started getting sick. She went on dialysis for three years. She was losing her physique as she was losing weight."

In fact, Nelson Villa told the Post that Figueroa kicked his sister out of their Long Island house in 2009 "while she was on dialysis" after her second kidney transplant and after she had their second son. When his sister regained her physique, Villa said that Figueroa "wanted to get back with her, and my sister didn't want to. He was just really obsessed with her. He was always going to her job and harassing her."

On Thursday, Figueroa went to see Villa, who was at work at the Crescent Chemist in Astoria. He offered her a bouquet of flowers and then shot her in the face. The 32-year-old died at a hospital, and police found Figueroa, who previously served time for murder, dead in his nearby apartment, with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head.

According to the News, "Villa had taken out an order of protection against Figueroa in Queens, which expired Jan. 25. But in the week before Villa's death, police were ordered to bring her ex in for questioning if they encountered him because he was threatening to kill her, police sources said. Villa also went to Family Court, possibly to get another order of protection, the week before she died, relatives said." And the Post reports, "Sources said that about two weeks ago, Guimmia had complained to police that her husband was harassing her and that he had a gun. But sources said police in the 114th Precinct, who took the report, failed to issue an investigative card."

Don't worry, when seconds count, the police will be there in a matter of minutes! (Unless there's a snowstorm, then it will be hours, if at all.)

It's easy to blame the cops, but in reality, Orders of Protection don't do Shit!!! Sorry to say but it is just a piece of paper sitting in a folder, in a dusty file cabinet in some court house. If you are experiencing physical abuse/threats...GET A GUN!!! Kill them before they kill you.

  • GalBklyn

funny but not in a funny way -- they got the guy who was stalking Ivanka Trump....

  • Rocknrope

Wow, this guy was the veritable definition of a lowlife scumbag. He knocks her up with two kids, and when she gets sick and "loses her physique," he dumps her and kicks her out of the house. When she amazingly recovers and gains back her health, he wants her back.

It's situations like this where I wish there was a Hell, so that I could believe that subhumans like Figueroa are enduring an eternity of unending demonic torture.

  • angry_pickle

I wish more women would initiate preemptive strikes when their crazy ex boyfriends threaten over and over to kill them.

"But sources said police in the 114th Precinct, who took the report, failed to issue an investigative card."

Sounds like she tried A.P., but the police, as is their way when dealing with women, blacks and gays... didn't take it seriously, dropped the ball and the anticipated tragedy occurred.

So, Ray Kelly -- what is the point of the NYPD if you can't even protect those that seek your aid? I'm really tired of hearing about the deaths of women who seek orders of protection - really tired...

  • Amanda Hardleech

Women in these situation should carry guns... It is sad to live in such level of paranoia thanks to these sick fkrs!

  • cmdrogogov

yeah great. the response to this violence is clearly MORE VIOLENCE.

There is no way in hell that unhinged psychopath should have been able to get his hands on a weapon.

  • PaulaNYC

She had -- and YOU have -- an ABSOLUTE RIGHT to be strapped!!! And the minute this SOB stepped into the drugstore in violation of an order of protection, she had an ABSOLUTE RIGHT to blow his brains out.

FUCK the libtards in the city council and the communists in the state legislature.

YOU HAVE A GOD GIVEN RIGHT TO CARRY A WEAPON, ANYWHERE ANYTIME, TO PROTECT YOURSELF.

  • coupdefoudre

Since her order of protection had expired, seems like maybe she didn't have an "ABSOLUTE RIGHT to blow his brains out".
PS - Maybe she did have a gun on her, you have no idea. Next time someone interrupts you at work by shoving a bouquet of flowers in your face then quickly following that with a shot, let me know how having a gun in your purse works out for you.

  • SuperWittySmitty

Still angry, huh? A God-given right to carry a weapon? You sound as if you are perpetually pissed-off. And we should give you a gun? I don't think so.

  • PaulaNYC

Should "we" give you a gun? Who the fuck are "we", scumbag? YOU HAVE ZERO RIGHT WHATSOEVER TO INTERFERE WITH MY RIGHT TO CARRY A WEAPON!!!!

GET THAT THROUGH YOUR FAT WHINY PANTY-WEARING HEAD, LIBTARD!!!

  • SuperWittySmitty

I meant it as in we, the people. And wow, those capital letters are very effective. But as I was saying, how is it a God-given right to carry a weapon? What God do you worship?

  • PaulaNYC

    I worship THE CONSTITUTION, moron.

The Bill of Rights acknowledges only 10 of the rights that are god-given.

And my right to carry a firearm is embodied in the Second Amendment.

Ranting and raving again. Lose your nastiness, rudeness and intolerance and maybe you will have a nicer life.

  • SuperWittySmitty

Whatever, You are very rude and you're overreacting to a news story. Sure, it's horrible what happened to this woman, but you are literally screaming at total strangers over it. You support the right of her murderer to have a gun, though. I do not see the logic of this. That's not what the second amendment is about. Eventually, you will need to apologize for the way you behave towards people who do not agree with you. I will wait, with bated breath.

  • Guest

Smitty: Do not expect her to apologize. Paula is full of hate and intolerance and she can find no place for those who disagree with her. Maybe when she starts her meds, she will start acting like a normal human being.

  • Spirit of 76

Hey, the police were busy, okay? If only Figueroa had been riding a bicycle. Then they would have picked him up lickety split. NYPD has its priorities straight.
