Man Still At Large After Murderous Brooklyn Stabbing Spree

Police were seeking a 23-year-old man suspected of stabbing his stepfather to death earlier this morning, but now the hunt for Maksim Gelman is more urgent after he allegedly fatally stabbed his girlfriend and her mother this afternoon. Gelman also apparently stabbed a man before stealing his car and then, while driving, struck a pedestrian.

Police say that Gelman and his stepfather Aleksandr Kuznetsov, 54, had an argument in the East 27th Street Sheepshead Bay apartment where they lived with Gelman's mother around 5 a.m. when Gelman stabbed Kuznetsov. Gelman fled in a Lexus. The Daily News reports, "Hours later, the raging Gelman slashed his girlfriend and her mother to death inside an apartment just blocks away. When cops arrived at the E. 24th St. home about 4:30 p.m., the two women were dead, police said. Moments after killing the women, Gelman attacked a passing motorist - stabbing the innocent 42-year-old before stealing his Pontiac Bonneville, cops said."

At Avenue R and Ocean Avenue, Gelman hit an 80-year-old man, who is in the hospital in grave condition. A super at Gelman's building told the Post that the suspect and his stepfather were not on good terms: "One time I asked him, 'What's your father's name,' and he replied, 'a--hole.' I never thought that I'd see this, him stabbing him to death. I could see them maybe getting into a fistfight."

    let's see:

i'm gonna blame this on the man in charge and some of you are going to argue that Bloomtard has nothing to do with crime rates!

but when that crime rate goes "down" you all give him credit?

you don't need to be a genius to know that forcing people to live together in small apartments because you got rid of 300,000 affordable housing units (and spent billions of taxdollars on taxbreaks for rich developers and their luxury skyscrapers) exacerbates human hostilities, do you?

this sounds like another classic case of that.

what makes a human want to murder his family?

    two things:

being trapped with them in a cage with no way out

and knowing that everything is free in the Republican's ultimate entitlement program: american jails.

(remember the black guy who turned himself a couple months back for shooting someone? his girl and 3 kids thought he was crazy. but we all know exactly why he wanted to go to jail for a few years!)

"I could see them maybe getting into a fistfight."

It would seem that they did, except Maksim happened to be holding a knife in his fist. I'm more curious as to why he went after his girlfriend. Was it one of those "what-have-I-got-to-lose" moments where he decided to take out everyone in his way?

  • I hate criminals.

    He should die for it.

...and here's my awful, awful, crappy joke:

he should have fought for us in iraq -- what a waste of a perfectly cold, murderous conscience.

ps my condolences to all who're involved.
