Did you buy an unlimited MetroCard before the last fare hike and hold off on activating it so as to game the system? Nice try, pal. All 30-day Unlimited MetroCards purchased before the hike are set to expire tonight at 11:59 p.m.. Because you knew that the MTA wasn't going to let you keep one extra penny of your money if they could help it. Sigh.

Wait, please tell me you're only talking about the ones purchased at $89.00. I just got mine at the beginning of the month for 100+.

  • yeah, it's midnight. That's been for a while (im not sure WHEN but before the recent hike). I learned this the hard way back during the holidays when i was working retail in times square. I'd leave work at 1 am and couldn't get back home without buying a new card. Pretty f-ed.

I thought metrocards expire at 3AM and not midnight? did the fare hike change that too?
