Diet Pepsi Introduces Anorexic Can

fatskinnypepsi0211.jpg Do you like Diet Pepsi but sometimes think, "this can is just so fat and unattractive!" Well, Pepsi is unveiling their "taller, sassier new Skinny Can" which they say is a "celebration of beautiful, confident women." Consider it a PILF. Or don't, because that might get you injured.

Marketing officer Jill Beraud adds that the new can is "slim and attractive," but if that isn't your thing, CNN reports that "for consumers who prefer their soda cans to be the traditional short and fat product—no need to worry. A Pepsi spokeswoman confirmed the old model will remain on shelves."

The new can will be unveiled this Friday during Fashion Week, as part of Simon Doonan's public art installation at Diet Pepsi Style Studio in SoHo. You could stand to lose a few pounds before introducing yourself.

This is nothing new to me I seen this in the middle east last Oct. Rather have the regular size can instead.

  • PILF? Does the author of this article have any idea what the 'ILF' (as in MILF) is an acronym for??? :) Well, needless to say, I had a chuckle... then the feminine product references.. sheesh! LOL Hope it works for ya Pepsi, personally i don't like 'Diet Soda'.

  • @ Shane: I think the author "Jen Carlson" is aware of the "ILF' meaning, when she stated in the article "Consider it a PILF. Or don't, because that might get you injured." STUPID analogy on her part! Why such a thought would even cross her mind is beyond me (?) I guess she's trying to act "cool" in her writing, Re: the new can; just another advertising "gimmick" which is also probably "less than" 12ozs. at the same (or higher) price. Bottom line is, "IT'S ALL ABOUT THE BUCK!"

If I ever get forced to drink diet soda, the one phrase that comes to mind is, "Hello! Taste?"
Right before I swallow the rancid unholy creation that is artificial sweetener.

    Do not want!

Great! You are charging proportionally less per can correct, Pepsi? :)

  • These have been out in Asia for quite some time.. About time they start using them here.

A fool and his corporate marketing budget are soon parted.

    Nuh-huh. I don't see them confirming it's a 12 oz. can.

Sassier? More like a sign of the massive inflation that is about to swamp our economy.

  • Peanut_Butter

Yup, I think this works. Good idea.

This makes sense. There's plenty of room top-to-bottom in refrigerated cases -- the expensive real estate is width.

Make the cans taller and thinner, fit more in the display.

It is also easier to conceal for women and some men when you just have to enter a movie theater with your own drink. And women can benefit from a little DIY project - cut the top off and use the empty can as a tampon holder.
