Stuyvesant, Bronx Science and Brooklyn Tech students—actually, New York City high school kids in general—are you reading this? Stop, close the browser and get back to class. This year not one New York City kid made it into the final round of the Intel Science Talent Search (still the Westinghouse Science Talent Search in our hearts). New York State at least had seven finalists, beaten by California's 11. And the city had seven semi-finalists, so there is that. But still, let's do better next time, mmmkay?

I know our Nerdy Asian Kids are plotting vengeance for this as we speak. No worries. What's that sound? It's coming from Flushing...My God they've built a giant robot!

Yah fail Garth. Intel STS and Siemens-Westinghouse are not the same competition. But you're still ahead b/c of the recent short joke.

The Intel STS was Westinghouse for 57 years. When Siemens bought the company Westinghouse they lost the rights to the search and started the Siemens-Westinghouse Competition.

There may be no NYC high school students left in the competition, but one of the finalists is being honored for work she did in NYC here at the Botanical Garden. We're very proud! http://bit.ly/egRw85

    YAY NYBG :-D

    Much better than BBG ;-)

Snark fail. From the Society for Science website: "The Intel STS encourages talented U.S. high school seniors to pursue independent research in science, math, engineering, and medicine." So going back to class wouldn't help in the least.

More studying will still help improve extracurricular research.

I bet there will be quite a few asian kids going to bed without dinner.

Little shits. Tiger Mom would NOT be pleased.
