Man's Leg Severed By 6 Train

2011_01_6train.jpg A man was struck—and the police say his leg was severed— by a downtown 6 train on the Upper East Side earlier this morning. According to the AP, "NYC Transit spokeswoman Deirdre Parker said the accident occurred at 77th Street and Lexington Avenue. The person was struck by a downtown No. 6 train at 2:24 a.m." The man was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital and the police do not believe there was criminality involved.
