Marriott Hotels To No Longer Offer Guests Porn

12111adult.jpg

The hotel sector in NYC has been relatively stable in the past couple years; despite our rudeness and the risk of being hit by something, 48.7 million tourists visited the city last year, spending over $30 billion on our junk and stuff. But the hotel industry might be facing an insurrection of sorts soon: Marriott International has announced plans to discontinue offering adult movies in their new hotel rooms, and eventually, from all their thousands of hotel.

In a statement, they discussed this game-changing decision, focusing on the advent of Internet-based video-on-demand: "Changing technology and how guests access entertainment has reduced the revenue hotels and their owners derive from in-room movies, including adult content...As we transition to this new platform, adult content will be off the menu for virtually all of our newly built hotels. Over the next few years, this will be the policy across our system." But what are lonely people to do while twiddling their thumbs late at night inundated with the sounds of other people having sex? Call an escort service?

just in case anyone is wondering that means that each tourist spent about $616.02...haha I did the math and since it took so much work I thought I should at least post it!

and since that was completely off topic I guess I'll comment on the article...I think it's good that they don't offer porn, that is gross anyway!

Last time I stayed at a Marriott, some of the porn was cheaper than non-porn. They had a surprisingly well-rounded selection, too.

I live across the street from a hotel. Last month I looked out my window just in time to see a naked dude fiddling with his television before getting into bed and fiddling with himself. And no, I didn't keep watching.

And here's a reminder for everyone: the thinner curtain in your hotel room becomes transparent when lit from within at night. You have to close the drapes as well.
