Taxi Drivers Now Expected To Be Sharp Dressed Men

After months of intense speculation and bitter in-fighting a vote was momentarily postponed due to truant Taxi and Limousine Commission members, we weren't sure when or if we'd ever get to have classy looking cab drivers in the city. But finally, the TLC had its vote today, and approved the new taxi dress rule, which requires drivers to maintain "a professional appearance." But besides long-standing rules prohibiting underwear-worn-as-outerwear, tank tops and swimsuits, the new dress code is mostly nebulous. "There will be no fashion police," said TLC Commissioner David Yassky. Drivers are expected to maintain a neat and clean appearance, which really is in their best interest: after all, every girl is crazy about a sharp dressed man.

and quite obviously the federal case law says government cannot impose dress rules (except against obscenity and total nudity).

but this is a mayor who loses most court battles and pays the damages with billions of tax dollars

    because he can

yassky's another total crook who got his appointment because he LOST his reelection bid for a council seat after he promised to not support the emperor's term limits overthrow.

at the last second he scammed his constituents and voted WITH bloomtard.

so voters sent him packing and bloomtard, doing what he always does (corrupting our government) hired him (with a NICE pay raise because money is "tight") to be the top TLC goon.

yassky's a beneficiary of the "John Ashcroft Effect".

(the voters of his home state voted for a dead guy rather than ashcroft, so W Bush made it up to him by making him Attorney General of america!)

    bloomtard is a dirty criminal

Yassky clearly doesn't have enough to do at his job.

Let's tackle the odor problem before we address the appearance problem.

Beat me to it. I rarely take cabs but every time I get in one I think of the Seinfeld episode with the valet and the B.O. "It's the Beast!"

  • I'm kind of baffled as to how this even comes up. Who looks at what their cabbie is wearing anyhow?
