Five Injured In Fort Greene, Greenpoint Shootings

2009_11_bullet2.jpg The Post reports that two Brooklyn shootings have left five injured: "The bullets began flying just after 10 p.m. at an outdoor basketball court near Bishop Loughlin High School on Clermont and Greene avenues in Fort Greene. Four teens were shot, including a 19-year-old, who was hit in the hip and calf and two 17-year-old boys and an 18 year-old girl who suffered foot and ankle injuries." The teens are expected to survive. The other shooting was in Greenpoint—a man was found on Monitor Street near Nassau; he's in critical condition.

There are projects one block from Lincoln Center. In fact, there are projects in many places you wouldn't think and 5 kids don't get shot. For Fort Greene, this is an anomaly factually and statistically. Your "jungle" comments reflect your narrow-minded racist bias. Is Tuscon a "jungle", too? Gun control, people. Gun control.

I lived in Fort Green in the 90's and it was a terrible neighborhood, gunshots were fairly common. I was shocked to see the 'gentrification' of that area... I put this in quotes because as long as the projects are all still there it will never be truly gentrified.

This is a reminder that its still just a bunch of fancy coffee shops in the middle of the jungle.

This kind of thing will never end as long as immature kids can get their hands on guns.
