Police are on the hunt for a gunman involved in a shooting on the Lower East Side early this morning. According to NY1, a 33-year-old man was shot in the abdomen outside an apartment on East Second Street and Avenue C at about 9 a.m.; during the argument which provoked the incident, witnesses say that a third person, a woman, bumped her head. The two victims were taken to Bellevue Hospital. In the aftermath of last weekend's shooting attack in Tucson, Arizona, Mayor Bloomberg and other NY lawmakers have stepped up their efforts to get stricter gun laws.
