Justice Scalia Issues Decision on NYC V. Chicago Pizza

Supreme Court Judge Antonin Scalia is known to respond to journalists' questions about his role in the controversial Bush V. Gore decision with a curt "Get over it!" Finally, reporters are getting the message, and using their interview opportunities with Scalia to pose more pressing questions, like which city in America has the best pizza. A reporter for California Lawyer recently asked the arrogant fat prick, "Being a child of Sicilian immigrants, how do you think New York City pizza rates?" To which the Supreme D-Bag, a Queens native, replied:

I think it is infinitely better than Washington pizza, and infinitely better than Chicago pizza. You know these deep-dish pizzas—it's not pizza. It's very good, but... call it tomato pie or something... I'm a traditionalist, what can I tell you?

What do you think? Is Chicago pizza even worthy of the name? Or is Justice Scalia a miserable P.O.S. who ought to be slowly impaled by a giant jagged sculpture of a raised middle finger for handing America over to George W. Bush and his warmongering wrecking crew? Or should we just get over it and head to Uno Pizzeria for some delicious authentic Chicago deep dish tomato pie? [Via Grub Street]

  • excuse me? George W. Bush cannot make any decisions unless approved by Congress, which happened to be controlled by the Democrats. The Democrats encouraged Bush to go to war, and passed it with a huge vote. the only reason bush made the decision was because the public was begging for it. it made a 180 overnight when people started to get killed. it is not just Bush's fault. he may have signed it, but the Democrats passed it

"Deep dish is like a birthday cake with pepperoni on it!"

I always prefer NY style but I'll eat anything!

No apologies to chicago. No capitalization either, that is reserved for proper nouns.

I hate chicago. There should be a ruling about whether or not they are legally allowed to call that carb loaded stillborn abomination "pizza".

I've never been there, but honestly, I never really had any curiosity about the city. Isn't it just like New York, except a bit more racially segregated, a bit windier and a bit colder?

  • TheRealCannibal

No. Its a very admirable, optimistic, and New York slanted view that you have that it should be "just like New York, except a bit more racially segregated, a bit windier and a bit colder?" ::pats on head::

Unfortunately, as New Yorkers, we take for granted things that define a city. Chicago is nothing like new york. I guess its technically a city, just like a tomato is technically a fruit. Take a random chunk of the upper midwest (dont take too long choosing, they are all the same) Throw a couple of tall buildings in it and start a newspaper. Chicago.

Oh and plenty of segregation. And not just segregation, pure lack of variety. And its RETARDED windy and STUPID cold. And the accents will peel the paint off of walls.

Hey John, I guess you haven’t realized yet that calling someone you disagree with a "Supreme D-Bag, miserable P.O.S. who ought to be slowly impaled by a giant jagged sculpture of a raised middle finger” really says a lot more about you than anyone else. Grow up, and check your professionalism. You are embarrassing yourself again.

  • Rod

Yeah, how dare john call a mass murdering super-crimnal a POS!

bet xxxmexxx refuses to call hitler a murderer becuase no one can prove he killed anyone personally!

  • mdiesel

I live in NY but Chicago pizza til the world blow up!

  • The pizzas are SO much better in Naples, Italy. No comparison. I don't even bother eating pizza anywhere else.

  • TheRealCannibal

No shit. Everything is better in Italy.

  • Except the Mexican food. The Mexican food is SO much better in Mexico City. I don't even bother eating Mexican food anywhere else. It's all about the water, which gives you violent explosive diarrhea.

Nine Iron? Go back to Basking Ridge!

  • mrmanhattan

oops, that was a comment for another thread

  • Wow, someone has anger issues. And it's not Scalia.

  • Rocknrope

it's not pizza. It's very good, but... call it tomato pie or something... I'm a traditionalist, what can I tell you?

The only useful ruling to come out of his mouth in years.

  • aspiringrapper

    Unbiased reporting at its finest!

  • Ph

He is a supreme dick bag.

  • Peanut_Butter

I haven't read any of his decisions, not that I can recall anyway. But I did hear him speak at St. John's Law one year, and I have to say, I liked what he had to say.

  • Ha, we actually made a t-shirt about this very debate. Having lived in Chicago and spent a lot of time in NYC, we're fans of both styles, but I definitely lean towards NY style (sorry Chicago - love you!)

Even here in Chicago, nobody respects Uno as a good Chicago style pizza.

whether you're in Chi-town or New Yawk, hair pie is always the best.
