No More Snooki Ball For NYE

snookball1210.jpg Was the Snooki Ball just an evil plot to lure the Jersey Shore star into a death trap by stroking her ego? Probably! But we'll never know, because the Snooki Ball is no longer happening on New Year's Eve. The glass hamster ball contraption that Snooki was going to climb into around midnight in Times Square has been banned, and a source told Popeater, "At midnight, the crowd and the media will be watching Mayor Bloomberg, Dick Clark and the official ball drop, not a cast member of the Jersey Shore."

Apparently the order came down from officials who control Times Square on December 31st, and a source explains, "MTV rents a position in the Square that night like every other media outlet. You can't get access to the Square without an official credential. You have to play by the official rules or you get kicked out, which is exactly what has happened to MTV and Snooki." Oh well, can we at least get a Taiwanese CGI of what it would have looked like?

Hold up, this just in at press time: the Snooki Ball WILL HAPPEN, and TMZ has photos! It's just happening in, where else, Jersey Shore.

Drat, I was hoping for an Indiana Jones-type rolling situation, with everyone leaping out of the way of SNOOKIBALL! Aaaaand then she goes into the river.

Let's just toss an Oompa-Loompa off the roof of One Times Square and all move on already.

We year-round residents are not happy about this new plan.

The only people in Seaside Heights during the winter are the people who are residents year-round. I am sure they are none too happy about this new plan.

If the Jersey Shore ball drop falls through, I hear that Mount Vesuvius has an opening.
