Video: Man Punches Cop in Face, With Predictable Results
How was your morning commute? Did you get into a fistfight with some cops or witness a near-riot in the subway station? If you missed out on that sort of thrill, you may enjoy this video of pandemonium at the Broadway Junction subway complex in Brooklyn. WATCH as cops struggle to handcuff a man resisting arrest! WINCE as another man punches a cop in the face! FEEL the outrage of bystanders sick and tired of getting pushed around by the po-po! WONDER if watching this video means you're complicit in the downward spiral of a desensitized culture that sensationalizes others' misery! COMMENT below on the distinction between police brutality and necessary force!
It's unclear from the video what sparked the arrests, which took place on or before December 5th. But as the two men are finally subdued and hustled away, one cop waves to the camera and sums up the incident succinctly: "It's cool. It's cool." We contacted the NYPD for details on the arrests, and we'll update if hell freezes over (which could conceivably happen today). [Via Animal New York]

I grew up in the projects on the Lower East Side and I now live in Bushwick Brooklyn. I've lived in NYC my entire life. Those cops did nothing wrong. I've seen the way a lot of idiots disrespect the authorities and make the rest of minorities, who are actually good people, look bad.
If any of those individuals had been decent people and they had been accosted unfairly, they never would have thrown a punch at an officer anyway. Plain and simple. I have friends who have been unfairly harassed by cops, even had a gun pointed at them for no real reason, they never so much as responded with a rude tone. That is what decent people do, continue to behave like decent people, regardless of how they are treated.

wake the fuck up. are u kidding us?! respond 'decently' to unfair harassment?
yes go be good little robots in a robot fucking world and do everything you're always told. now, go jump off the cliff.
PLAIN AND SIMPLE: PEOPLE ARE TIRED OF CORRUPTION AND ITS STARTING TO SHOW. SEE BELOW
NYPD Narcotics Cop: OFFICERS ROUTINELY PLANTED DRUGS ON INNOCENTS
A former New York City Police Department narcotics detective has testified officers commonly planted drugs on innocent people in order to meet arrest quotas. Stephen Anderson made the disclosure at the corruption trial of another officer. Anderson says the practice was so widespread that it came "from supervisors or undercovers and even investigators."
weird. millions of upper class white people have horror stories about cops too, so you can't be right.
and giuliani's only deputy mayor of color, rudy washington was TWICE pulled over for driving a fancy vehicle while black. the cops were such dicks his wife was in tears and he complained to rudy.
rudy's solution was to give him a special laminated placard that read "I'm a deputy mayor!"

What's your point? I never said that cops don't harass people. They do. I've been in that kind ofb situation myself. But I never punched a cop in the face, nor have any of my friends and I'm guessing the people you mentioned in your comment didn't do that either.
My point was, that in this particular instance in the video, the cops did nothing wrong.

Please take away this guy's camera until he learns how to hold it. Looks like he thinks it's a gun that it is cool to hold sideways.
I want to know what model phone this guy has - the picture quality is superb!

The cops did a great job dealing with an unruly mob of savages.

I would have liked to have seen more police brutality. That was shockingly tame for someone having to handle an unpredictable crowd of those violent (and probably heavily armed) savages.
Funny how the video cameras always get turned on after the perp commits the crime.
OSN!
Welcome to the ghetto. 24/7 drama. Drama in the home, school, street, subway, work. No wonder there's so much psychotic behavior. And some people question if there is a hell.
27 years in the ghetto and counting, not everyone here is bad, but there is unfortunate amount of stupidity. I lived in the projects in downtown Manhattan up until recently, the behavior in that video, is what would happen in my neighborhood AT LEAST once a week. With about 50 idiots, and tons of cops would have to show up every time.
OSN!
Oh yeah, I have. Spent years in 'the ghetto', boss.

They deserve what they got. Why are you resisting arrest? They are both getting felony charges now. I also don't see any unnecessary force being used at all. The second guy was fighting them and connected with a punch on the officer. I'm sure they had a long few days at 120 Schermerhorn.
