Eddie Crespo, the MTA officer who appeared to be involved in last week's subway attack on an imam, will not be charged after all, a grand jury decided yesterday. His fiance's brother, Albert Melendez, meanwhile will be charged in the case but on a misdemeanor charge, not the felony counts he was facing. So maybe it was just a bump that kicked off the mess and not plain old bigotry?
