Christine Quinn, Still Not a Fan of Walmart

201012_quinn.jpg As we've mentioned a few times, mega-retailer Walmart wants to come to town and make us all into happy Walmart shoppers. But they haven't asked City Council Speaker, and presumed 2013 mayoral candidate, Christine Quinn about it: "Walmart is something I am not supportive of," Quinn told the Daily News yesterday. "I'm always going to stand with small businesses, and that's why I'm going to stay consistent in this position." We'll drink to that.

They will all change their minds once the bags of cash are left at the back door.

    Bloomberg's money whore...

  • longacre

She supports small businesses who pay their employees crap without benefits and opposes big businesses who pay their employees more with some benefits.

Quinn strong-armed the City Council into extending term limits alleging that the City needed Bloomberg during the financial crisis. That didn't stop small businesses all over town from going under. Of course the real reason she forced the council to extend term limits is to put four more years between her corruption scandal and her run for Mayor, hoping that NYers will forget.

  • What about the small businesses and homeowners that were forced by the government to sell their property for the Atlantic Yards development? Where was she then?

Bloomberg is for it and Quinn is against?
Hmm..sounds like he needs a new puppet.
