Woman Fights Attacker In 23rd Street Subway Station

121310train.jpg Today is just not shaping up to be a good day for mass transit. A woman waiting at the 23rd Street C and E station reportedly fought off an attacker and she exited a turnstile from the uptown platform. A station agent told the Daily News, "She was screaming, 'He tried to rape me!' ...My supervisor was on the other side of the platform and saw the man grab at the girl's clothes. She ran up the stairs and over to the other side, but by then the guy was already running off." It's unclear if the station agents did anything to stop the attacker, but they don't have the best track record.

good thing she got away. be careful, ladies -- 3 am at a subway platform all alone isn't exactly a good idea. we know you are strong and independent, but this is still stupid new york.
