Woman Says Australian Sheep Farmer Drugged, Raped Her

121010sheeep.jpg

A Long Island speech therapist claims that an Australian sheep farmer who picked her up at a bar in 2005 drugged and raped her in a midtown hotel. The 28-year-old woman, who was not identified, admitted to jurors on Wednesday that she had had at least six drinks at two West Village bars with sheep farmer David Green, but believes he must have slipped her a roofie that led to her being "lights out." She claims she woke up in the middle of the night at the Affinia Hotel with Green "on top of me and having sex with me."

Green, the nephew of Sirius satellite radio executive James Meyer, was arrested initially after the incident, but was let go on bail; he fled the country after he was released, and was only extradited back to NYC last year. His lawyer claims the woman was drunk, which caused her to black out, and that she seduced sheep farmer Green with pickup lines such as, "You have a great Australian accent. That deserves a kiss." But the woman, who also admitted to being in therapy for cocaine addiction that summer, said she had some experience blacking out, and that she "never felt like I was drugged like I felt that night."

What else would an Australian sheep farmer do!

  • annaka700

If she was thought she was drugged, didn't she get tested for that in the rape test? I believe you can test for Rohypnol and other drugs, and if she did, that would lend more credibility to her case. In the article, it just states that she "believes" she was drugged.

Gonna be hard to prove he was the one that slipped her the roofie, could have been anyone in any of the bars she visited, and if this guy didn't know that and just played along with her flirtations and one thing led to another...
On the other hand, he's got a well connected father, so i'm sure the outcome will favor him

that sheep in the pic seems to say: "you left me for that woman, didn't you?" *tears*

"Judge, I have expertise in the area of blacking out due to a long-term cocaine addiction and can assure you this time was different"

Some really used this line of reason?

    Expert witness!

    Credibility through the roof.

Real rape is one of the worst things imaginable. Having way too much to drink and then pulling the R-card after the fact, fueled either by regret or money, is criminal in itself. I'd say theres only a 20% chance that he actually drugged her.

  • The first time I read the headline I thought it said the sheep drugged and raped her. That would have been much more interesting.

Also the Aussies have somewhat different standards for such things than we do...it's not uncommon to see rape victims getting blamed for getting themselves raped there.

lmao I read it the same way.
