When Brett Favre was still a Jet he allegedly left sideline reporter Jenn Sterger this message: "I'd love to have you come over tonight. I think Aaron came up and asked you if you would give him your number or he was going to give you my number." The Daily News reports that Favre is referring to one Aaron Degerness, a former Jets senior manager of operations (he says he is an Equipment Manager on Myspace). Now, should Sterger decide to take Favre to court, her team could use Degerness to prove the Jets knew about Favre's (sad) attempt to seduce her.
It's all speculation at this point, as the league still hasn't finished its investigation, but Jets senior media relations manager Jared Winley could also be used as a witness. Favre allegedly wrote to Sterger in a MySpace message last October, "Jared Winley works in Pr for Jets he will either slip you my # or ask for yours." If the NFL is planning to punish Favre they need to do it fast; Favre has now definitely said he will retire at the end of the season. Though we know how that's gone before.
