Watch Out For Jets-Pats Brawls Tonight

120610patsjets.jpg It is upon us. The much-awaited Monday night game between the New York Jets and the New England UGG Spokesmen goes down tonight, and will determine divisional supremacy. The New York Jets messageboard is already fired up, with Pats trash-talking being as civilized as, "Die in a fire Pats fans," to the slightly more aggressive, "Tom Brady takes it up the ass while wearing his UGG boots." So, where are you getting drunk and having to be held back from knocking out that douchebag in the Wes Welker jersey tonight?

Jo McDonald, a bartender at Pats bar the Hairy Monk, told the Daily News, "It's going to be insane!" It'll also probably be a Boston party at Pat O'Brien's on 2nd Avenue. But for hometown supporters. For Jets fans, the paper recommends Bar 51, Professor Thom's and the 40/40 club, though there's no word on whether the HOV will be joining you. Foley's Pub in Midtown will be serving a Jets-themed dinner, including a Mark Sanchez burger with ham and pineapple. Unfortunately, you'll have to order it from Pats fan bartender Ben Schmitt.

So how is the game going to play out? Well, starting safety Jim Leonhard is out with a broken leg, and is expected to be replaced by Jerricho Cotchery. But fear not, because according to Pats QB Tom Brady, their team hasn't done anything this season. He said, "I'm trying to express to teammates: 'We haven't done anything. Nine wins is nothing.' It's not easy this time of year...You never really know what's coming from the Jets."

It's a shame that Jets fans don't realize that Tom Brady is taking it up the ass from Gisele Bundchen, so it's probably worth it.

Well... to each his own, I guess.

This sentence "Well, starting safety Jim Leonhard is out with a broken leg, and is expected to be replaced by Jerricho Cotchery." is very misleading.

Cotchery doesnt play safety and potentially will be replacing Leonhard on the special teams but Eric Smith will be replacing Jim Leonhard at safety.

Heh... it might be interesting to see Cotchery in the defensive backfield, but certainly not right now. He hasn't played for two weeks because of a groin injury. He's listed as "probable" right now but reports are he'll play tonight. The limited role returning punts might make sense just because he's not back to 100% yet.

Anyway, Eric Smith will likely start for Leonhard at SS, with Brodney Pool also filling in.

I don't quite appreciate you putting words in my mouth.

  • Professor Thom's is actually a Boston-team-friendly bar.
