Rangel: Censure Was "Embarrassing, Painful"

Last night, among the stars and Beltway insiders attending the Kennedy Center Honors was a certain veteran Congressman who had a terrible week. Yes, Rep. Charles Rangel (D-Harlem) was in Washington D.C. attending the glittering event that paid tribute to Oprah Winfrey, Paul McCartney, Bill T. Jones, Merle Haggard and others. But do you know what else Rangel did yesterday? Discuss his censure: He told CNN's Candy Crowley, "It was an embarrassing and painful experience."

However, he pointed out, "But the whole idea of corruption has been just laid to rest," as in he wasn't found guilty of corruption, "and the question of self-enrichment. And I was thinking about all of those things while I was in the well, and saying, 'At long last, it's not just Charlie Rangel saying it, it's the head prosecutor.'" Rangel continued on the philosophical long view, saying he also thought about "the people in my district and throughout the United States who feel the pain of unemployment, lack of jobs, lack of hope" and of the armed forces, "No matter how much pain I was feeling, it really didn't compare to tens of thousands of brave men and women who find themselves in harm's way."

  • Anyone but Obama

Here we go again. He's been using National Leadership Political Action Committee (PAC) money for his defense. That's a no-no. What is it going to take for us to get rid of this thief? He's a crook, get it? We have to get rid of the thieving bums people.

  • Anyone but Obama

It isn't a question about whether he was born here or not anymore. What is he hiding? He won't show ANY documents at all. It's as if he never existed. No one remembers him from school. He won't show transcripts or any school records. His senate records are available, they were 'lost.' Every other senator's records are there. We the people just want to know something about this guy and he won't show any documents at all. I'm sure most people have applied for jobs during their lives. You have to show originals of a lot of documents or you just don't get the job. Shouldn't the most powerful person on earth have to do the same, especially when there are so many people wanting to see them? Why is he spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on lawyers to keep them hidden? Why won't he just show them and get rid of all this controversy? Simple, curious questions that need to be answered.

  • What is "embarrassing and painful" is that the idiots in his CD voted him back in. He co-wrote much of the tax law and he violated it. Hopefully the new investigation into him illegally using his PAC $ to pay his legal bills (he stopped when it was exposed) will get him out for good.

  • SP's Ghost

don't blame me, I voted for the Socialist Party candidate.

  • you're just saying that cause he's black

  • You just wrote that because you're (a) stupid (b) an obamacrat (c) one and the same.

Here's a hot tip. While you're scarfing down your jihadi propaganda with your politically correct hummus, GO READ UP ON on what the HW&M committee does (Rangle the THEIF was chairman) and then come back and apologize to the world for how your stupid comment is going to make you look like a loser FOR ALL OF TIME.
