Man Killed After Being Crushed By 4 Train At Atlantic Ave

Last night, subway service on the 2, 3, 4 and 5 subway lines was affected due to "police activity." It turns out that a man was killed by an oncoming 4 train after falling from the platform.

The Daily News reports, "The man, whose identity was not immediately available, fell onto the tracks and into the path of a northbound No. 4 train at the Atlantic Terminal subway station in Flatbush around 8:20p.m., said an MTA supervisor who did not want to be identified. An MTA employee said he heard the sickening screech of the train's brakes as it tried to halt before hitting the victim."

The employee said, "I heard the brakes, and then I heard, 'Boom, boom.' Then I saw the police and firefighters come." Earlier this week, a subway car managed to stop before hitting a man who fell into the tracks; the subway motorman said that hitting some "is a fear that all train operators have."

Any word on the name of the man?

Glad to see you find humor in someone's death.

  • schmeep

    I'm glad you approve.

I don't think anyone objects, in theory, to joking about someone's death -- particularly if it's a funny joke. It's just that your comment didn't really do much for me -- it just kinda left me flat.

  • schmeep

Well yeah, it's a throwaway Brady Bunch line that you can take or leave. However, prjose56 clearly did, in theory or practice, object, even if it'were the funniest funny in the world.

  • TheOtherBob

Yeah, he definitely squashed your ambitions.

  • schmeep

Now that's what I call a sticky situation.
