Lisa Simpson Can Finally Eat Dinner At 7-11

lisameat1210.jpg Longtime vegetarian Lisa Simpson was sort of left out when her family briefly became the face of 7-11, but now the Humane Society of the U.S. announces that the world’s biggest retail chain is test-marketing vegan meals! In the past they went vegan accidentally, but this time it's for real.

The test run will be taking place at select New York City locations (get the full list here). Choices will include Pad Thai noodles, vegetable lo mein, Shanghai dumplings, artichoke spinach noodles, and Hunan dumplings. What, they can't put some Tofu Pups in the hot dog machine?

As for NYC vegans, Patrick Kwan at the HSUS tells us: "We’re thrilled that 7-Eleven is offering these new vegan options, which is helping to make it even easier for New Yorkers to choose to eat humanely."

I'm pretty sure there's a 7-11 in downtown Philly that sells all kinds of pre-made vegan/vegetarian sandwiches, don't remember the brand though.

  • Sounds like the Sunnyside (queens) based Macro-Vegetarian brand that's sold at most bodegas and occasional in airports.
Don't worry- it's still not 100% cruelty free
