Overachieving Artist Finishes Mural Early

Man on the street Jim Kiernan tells us that Kenny Scharf finished his mural last night, a full day ahead of schedule. Maybe he read the forecast, or wanted to get an earlier flight out to Art Basel in Miami. ANYWAY, it's done... and Kiernan reminds us that the only other artist to ever paint this wall all on his own was Keith Haring. All in all it took Scharf 100 hours, spread apart over six days—and he did it all without a sketch.

Now, stay tuned for the inevitable photos of the mural getting bombed...

    it wont be tagged. kenny S. is on par with keith haring, futura, cope, basquait etc in terms of history.

    he is not a braggart, a poser or a fake. he has a worldwide following of art fans, as opposed to the gaymos, obey and twist flunkies who dont know jack about art and believe the hype about graffiti "artists" being some great adventurers..the truth is most of these so called graffiti artists are hype gangstersz with media & press skills.



    adek and the other real graffiti bombers who diss the likes of phonies like banksy wont touch this since kenny scharf doesnt need to be taken down a notch with a dollar can of cheap paint.
