LaGuardia Airport For The "Win"!

Once again, we're number one! In bad airports. Hot on the heels of a similar report, for the fourth year running LaGuardia has been deemed the worst airport in the country according to a Zagat Survey of 8,007 flyers. Not that JFK and Newark did much better, coming in 26th and 24th out of 30, respectively. Meanwhile, Portland International got the nod as the best airport in the country. So is there anything that could fix poor beleaguered LaGuardia? "Knock it down and start over," suggests Zagat's founder Tim Zagat. But hey, with a slew of fancy food spots coming to LaGuardia's Terminal D soon enough, at least folks can eat good food while they wait.

yeah, and good luck having your flight leave on time after 6:30 am.
i flew virgin america to LA out of JFK (forget the terminal) but i flew through check in and security, like grand total 5 minutes. no gropage, no nothing. and there was decent food in the terminal pre and post security. crazy, right?

I often have to fly AA out of LGA for work. The AA wing has HANDS DOWN the worst facilities and food options of all the places I have to fly in/out of for work. There's just a sandwich place called Figs (?) -- you can't even sit down there unless you want to sit at the bar that shares the space. Pathetic!!

The Central Terminal of LGA is a dump, but a pleasure to fly out of, as long as things are on time. Security lines are always short. Both US Air and Delta Shuttle run efficient operations as well.

Unfortunately, I most often fly Delta out of the Delta Terminal (Terminal D), which is perennially jammed with outrageous security lines, like T3 at JFK.

I'll take LGA over JFK any day. I don't go to an airport for the overpriced restaurants and 400 identical bookstores. Navigating LGA is reasonably easy and takes half the time to check in as JFK.

I love flying in and out of LaGuardia. It's a smaller airport, and I can usually get to the gate within about 20 minutes from when I walk in the door. Yes, it's a dump, but so what? Function over form, people!

Shush, that's the secret of LGA.

ugh... have to trudge through LGA tomorrow. On my way to sunnier climes!

I often wondered why the heirs of historical figures such as the LaGuardias and the Kennedys don't petition to have their names taken off airports, highways, bridges, off-ramps, and other landmarks the general public curse on a daily basis.

oh LGA how I hate you.

Next year I hope they'll evaluate the local TSA agents' groping and fondling technique. Maybe we can get a top-rank in "Best junk handlers".

Knocking it down won't do anything -- unless we knock it down with all the employees inside.
