An Upper East Side building resident told the Daily News, "There's really no safe place left - nuts can get to you anywhere. No one's walking into the building alone now. We're going in in pairs," after a man robbed a 56-year-old woman entering the East 89th Street building's vestibule yesterday. The suspect, who approached the woman from behind, covered her mouth, and demanded her money, is also believed to be behind four other robberies of women since Wednesday.

The police released a sketch of the suspect, who is described as clean shaven and nearly bald, about 6 feet tall and 220 pounds and in his 30s. He allegedly struck three times on Wednesday: First at 12:40 p.m., at a building on East 79th near FDR Drive; then at an East 69th Street near 2nd Avenue building at 3 p.m.; and finally at 9:20 p.m. at East 93rd Street near 2nd Avenue. At East 79th and East 93rd, the women screamed, forcing the robber to flee.

Yesterday, the robber struck the East 89th Street building at 10:15 a.m., and then robbed a woman of her money, iPod, and watch at East 78th Street near the FDR Drive.
