Who's Your Daddy: K-Rod Sued By Girlfriend's Dad

111110krod.jpg Since he apologized to his team, textually apologized to his girlfriend 56 times, and generally ate quite a lot of crow, Mets closer Fransisco Rodriguez was probably hoping he was out of the fire by now. But unfortunately for K-Rod, his girlfriend's father has decided to sue him over the assault at Citi Field. Carlos Pena, the father, said he has been in and out of doctor's offices to treat injuries to his "head, brain, face, neck and back." He is seeking an unspecified amount in damages for the "extreme and outrageous" beating. If convicted, K-Rod could face two years in jail, or the equivalency of two and a half Mets seasons in hell.

Poor writing - the civil matter and the criminal matter are conflated. You can't get convicted and go to jail when someone sues you for assault.
