Last Night's Action: Jets Rally To Down Lions

Down 10 with the ball and 4:26 remaining? No problem. The Jets rallied with 10 points in the final 2:46 and scored a game-winning field goal in overtime to defeat the Lions, 23-20, in Detroit. For much of this game, the Jets looked as uninspired as they did in last week's shutout loss to Green Gay. But Mark Sanchez finally played better, scoring on a quarterback sneak before engineering the game-tying and winning drives. He finished with 323 yards, one touchdown and one interception. The Jets also knocked out Detroit quarterback Matt Stafford, which no doubt helped their chances in overtime.

A 41-7 win over the short-handed Seahawks in Seattle has the Giants flying high at 6-2. Eli Manning threw for 293 yards and three touchdowns and Ahmad Bradhsaw ran for two more. The Giants' 35-0 lead at halftime was their largest since 1969. They're in control of the NFC East and have only the Eagles, who beat the Colts on Sunday, to worry about. The rest of that division isn't any good.

Not even a backup goalie could help the Rangers, who got shut out by St. Louis, 2-0. Ty Conklin kept the Rangers at bay by turning aside 27 shots. The Rangers allowed only 21 Blue shots but lost.

The Knicks scored only 15 points in the fourth quarter and fell to the 76ers, 106-96. Amar'e Stoudemire had 21 points and 15 rebounds in the loss, which snapped a two-game losing streak.

You didn't mention that the NYJ committed a roughing the K penalty taking out DETs kicker & forcing them to use a big DT(!) to attempt an extra pt. The Jets would have lost if that pt had been made :(

SEA was a very sad sight (not as sad as DAL tho') but it was very classy of the Giants not to take out the rookie QB or run up the pts 100-7

I would just like to use this sports post to say fuck you to CBS for making me wait around an hour to watch 60 minutes last night for the Oakland Raiders who no one gives a shit about.

That Raiders game was terrific. They defeated the Chiefs and the worst bunch of officials ever assembled...

You'd rather watch 60 Minutes than a kickass game between the Raiders and Chiefs? What's wrong with you? Hell, I enjoyed that game much more than the Green Bay game. Ugh!

Every time the commentators assure the audience that 60 Minutes will be on right after the game, I wonder if anyone under the age of 60 is interested.

PS Cowboy, my crying comment the other day was in reference to Romo. Sorry we killed him. :)

The Giants killed the worst QB ever when LT destroyed Theisman. Best moment in NFL history, if you ask me.

Romo's injury pretty much threw our season in the toilet. At least we got rid of Phillips. Maybe that will light a fire under their asses.

This happens every football season. I don't know why CBS doesn't do what FOX does - start primetime at 8pm and not 7.

Ty Conklin kept the Rangers at bay by making aside 27 shots.

    What does this even mean?

Jets looked as uninspired as they did in last week's shutout loss to Detroit.

What a quirky schedule when they play the same team twice in a row!
