Double Lung Transplant Guy Finishes Marathon

110810marathon.jpg Not sure what you were doing yesterday, but Tim Sweeney, a personal trainer from Connecticut, was one of 43,000 athletes running the NYC Marathon. It took him almost 7 hours, which wouldn't be impressive if not for the fact that he's a cystic fibrosis sufferer who got a double lung transplant last year. "It was so much more than I expected. It was overwhelming," Sweeney told the Daily News after the race. "I didn't care about time. I really wanted to finish."

Cool for the amputees etc, but what a selfish fuck that he gets another chance at life and does this insanely strenuous activity to his body, his lungs. Asshole. Sorry, but asshole. If he did another great feat which wasn't such a bold risk to what he was given I would give him props.

Attempting the Marathon and Finishing Period should be Impressive Enough regardless of time. I finished at 7 hours Yesterday and it was a Struggle not only because i was battling the flu. God Bless him and Everyone who reached the Finish line yesterday.

Good For him. 7 hours ain't too bad either. Those are a good set of lungs you got there.

  • i saw single and double amputees finishing that race, i stood at the 26 mile mark.
