Kanye West Will Join This Year's Thanksgiving Day Parade

kanyeballoon.jpg Finish up all your candy, because it's time to make room for turkey! Thanksgiving is coming up, and with it, the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. This year the Daily News-sponsored Big Apple float has some super-sized bookings, including Kanye West, who will perform while rolling down... one of the streets. Parade producer Amy Kule told the paper, "The 84th Macy's Parade will dazzle and entertain the entire nation with a fantastic pageant filled with the most popular giant character helium balloons, awe-inspiring floats, the nation's best marching bands and an amazing lineup of performers."

Sounds like West has some big competition—including new float additions Kool-Aid man and Kung Fu Panda! Do you think the performer is just angling to get his own helium homage—a parade balloon—one day (our interpretation pictured to the right)?

In other Kanye news, in a radio interview he discussed the Taylor Swift incident, saying, "The situation is bigger to me than the Bush moment. It’s bigger than a lot of things." The "Bush moment," of course, came during a post-Katrina telethon to raise money, when Kanye declared to the watching nation, "George Bush doesn't care about black people." Kanye might be surprised to hear that Bush recently told Matt Lauer on The Today Show that the moment "was one of the most disgusting moments in my Presidency." Which, you know, is saying a lot.

This parade has never been very entertaining. And having this loser perform will not help. Of all the people they choose him. Why? Go down to New Orleans if you want to see a real parade.

I wonder if he will sing "Goldigger" with all the lyrics for the kiddies to hear. "He ain't a broke what, Dad?"

Yea, just what i think of when i think about good wholesome family fun...Friggin' Kanye West.

And cause no one did it yet:

Over the last few years, the parade has not been that great.

On television, they don't show enough of the parade. While interesting marching bands, balloons and floats are going by, we have to watch Fat Al Roker asking some vapid actress "What does Thanksgiving mean to you?"

And Santa Claus used to get off the float and actually enter Macy's. I guess Macy's got tired of that because now he just rides off into oblivion.

"angling to get his own float one day (our interpretation pictured to the right)."

'Floats' are the large, decorated vehicles on the ground at a parade. Confusing, I know, because they actually don't float. What your illustration depicts is known as a 'balloon'.

I think what he's actually saying is "The Situation is bigger to me than the Bush moment."

He's a big fan of Jersey Shore.

"it's time to make room for turkey!"

As good a description of Kanye West as any, I guess.
