LES Shooting: Three People Injured On Stanton Street

Around 9 p.m., three people were shot on Stanton Street near Attorney Street. None of the injuries seem to be life-threatening and the victims were taken to Bellevue Hospital. According to WABC 7, "One victim was shot in the shoulder, one in the chest and the last in the stomach. Police are looking for at least one man who fled the scene."

A reader who took this photograph tells us that it's crazy—he's locked inside his building, which is being canvassed by detectives! Another person Twittered about 45 minutes ago, "Sooo a shooting just went down across the street from the spot where I was supposed to rehearse. Stanton locked down btw Ridge & Suffolk."

  • OSN!

Battle scars they can brag about in their next rap.

The whole thing is a vicious cycle...a stupid dog chasing it's tail.

  • fixilator

You obviously don't know the area, assuming the rehearsal space is "rap."

Stick to shit you know even a little about.

You might not know the area as well yourself... The Baruch houses ( i think the city's largest project) are a block and a half away from Stanton and attorney. LES isn't the hipster playground everyone thinks.

  • ktinnyc

Queensbridge Houses is the largest project in the city and the biggest in the country.

Baruch Houses is the biggest project in Manhattan. Samuel Gompers Houses is actually closer and also has its share of crime.

I'm extremely impressed that you know how to use Wikipedia. Thanks for your input.
